The Beamish and Crawford brewery on South Main St which closed earlier this year. Beamish is now (I think) brewed over in the Heineken brewery on the other side of the city along with fellow Cork stout Murphy’s. I wonder how Heineken will treat the two stouts which are in competition with each in other in the Cork/Munster area. I switch between the two to be honest and always recommend them above Guinness to foreign visitors looking for that quintessential Irish pint.

I used to switch between the two also, but since moving to Dublin it’s near impossible to get Murphy’s. I’ve found a good pint of Beamish so that’ll have to do. Although, if they’re now both brewed by Heineken, they’re not in competition with each other anymore surely. It’d be a bit of a strange marketing ploy for Heineken to put two of their own products up against each other.
Dub’s don’t like Beamish either. Seems it’s far too flavoured and interesting for their dull as dishwater palates 😀
